WHY USE A LANDSCAPE DESIGNER ?
A Landscape Designer has the skills to work with all facets of the landscape. Not only can they create beautiful designs, but also keep you from making costly mistakes. Areas of expertise can range from horticulture and planting design to the more intricate areas of paving materials, grading, drainage, and lighting design. A good landscape designer will look at the entire property and create a design where all elements are not only attractive, but also one which functions well, creating a cohesiveness to the entire project.
HOW MUCH DOES A LANDSCAPE DESIGN COST ?
As every Garden or Landscape Project is different it is not possible to give a general estimated cost. However we work on a fixed fee basis so the the client/customer will know exactly how much the design fees will be prior to commencing. We base this figure on a preliminary meeting with the client and provide the fee proposal in written form. There is no charge for the preliminary meeting.

Most Landscape Designs will take between 2-3 weeks from start to finish. Some larger projects make take longer and might be broken down into stages to allow contractors to 'Fast Track' certain elemants.

The landscape design process will consist of the following
- A preliminary meeting to discuss the brief.
- A full site measure up,
- A first meeting to discuss the concepts (where we will also supply samples, estimates or links to suppliers).
- Further refinement of the concept until the client signs off on the design
- Preparation of a Master Plan and final meeting.
- Any further minor adjustments to the Master Plan.
- The hard copies and PDF files are then handed over to the client and the client is billed for the work.
- Faulkner & Chapman can then recommend qualified landscapers to tender or the client can use their own landscaper to complete the works.
- If the client wishes we will also do site inspections for quality assurance and to ensure adherance to the design. This service is carried out for a separate fixed fee.
